Whoa! Haven't posted in a lonnng while. Little monster guy i did in my business class....as you can see, i drew over my notes...it's clear what is the most important thing on this page. I think i might turn this into a painting. (ignore the crosshatching in the background...I was jsut getting bored at that point.)

So here's a few things. first up is a painting i did for my friend ashley for her birthday, not really my style, but it's something she wanted. the colours are a lot brighter in real life.
Second is a pair of shoes I 'decorated' for Teague. it was kind of a fun thing to do.

So i've been crafty. i had the day off yesterday (the first day off i'v ehad in 3 weeks, might i add..), so i whipped out the ol' sewing machine and got to creating. I made a pillow for Teague (my better half). on the bottom right of the pillow, i embroidered an irish symbol for love. aww, cute. i also made a little green... thing. i guess he's a monster? and he has a scarf.

K, so Kurt Halsey is one of my favourite artists, so i thought i'd take one of his drawings that i really liked, and paint it on my wall. so here it is. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

Alright, so i love dinosaurs. i was having a good chat about dinosaurs today with my friend Brett and it inspired me to do a painting just for fun...but it actually turned out looking pretty cool, so i think i might do a series and maybe try to make a little money from them...

Alright, so here is the final outline for Drew's tattoo. I will be colouring it...but ya. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. and finally getting my ass in gear and finishing it felt pretty damn good.

A letter is currently in the mail from Linda Dalton, the Registrar, to
acknowledge receipt of your request for an Admission Decision Review.

I this letter she has requested your original portfolio be dropped of to
me in the Admissions office in D200 at the Trafalgar Road Campus
(Oakville) before May 3rd. Our office is open from 8:30am to 5pm
Monday to Friday.

Just incase the mail is delayed, I wanted to make sure you knew of this
inorder to get them to my office by Friday.

We have requested your original portfolio as it is possible it may be
referenced along with your portfolio score in the appeal process. New
work will not be considered and will not be reviewed.

alright, so i've been busy writing my appeal and taking it up to oakville.
I have a couple flowers for drew's tattoo. i think i'm going to do the one with the leaves. it looks more like the style he wants.

So, as most of you may know...I didn't get into illustration. which is terrible.
So now I am in the process of appealing. This means that i have to write a letter to the school, basically explaining why i should be there. I think this is more pressure than the actualy portfolio...this has to be the best thing i've ever written in my life.

So I went to Ottawa for about a week, just got back a couple days ago. It was a good retreat after the stresses of portfolio time.
I took a few sweet pictures while I was there.

It was a good time.
I'm making a tshirt tonight, and starting to work on a tattoo design for my friend Drew, so both those will be posted soon. I'm also planning a few painting projects too..

Alright.
Countdown begins...a week till the no sleeping, no real socializing, and being a hermit madness comes to an end. hopefully it'll all pay off...fingers crossed.

I am also going to be starting to do some arty things that i actually want to do in the next couple of days...even though i can't really afford to give up the time...but man, i need to do something else, because i feel like my creavtivity is just getting sucked outta me. Woohooo Illustration! but yes. tshirts. tattoo designs. <3.

A container and it's disorganized contents.
This is probably my favourite one yet. the far left edge seems like it could be a lil off, but it is it, that's easy enough to fix. i'm going to just sit with this one and leave it for now. i think it looks good.
Also, i know the image is darker...i just dont really like the quality of my scanner, so i'm just taking pics with my digi cam, but unfortunatly they turn out a lil dark.

On this fabulous February 14th, i would like to show some love to a couple of friends here on my links list...

Joel Beaudet was my roomate when i was at school from Sept.-Dec. He is building up a portfolio for Animation at Sheridan, and he is posting some portfolio pieces and other work on his blog, so go on over there and tell him what you think of his stuff...us 'potentials' need all the help we can get, so critique away...

Dylan Davies is a long-time friend from highschool. He's currently out west at Emily Carr, and he's building up his website with many of his wonderful photographs and other things. He has a wonderful eye for composition, and personally I've always been pretty impressed with the work he produces.

Drew Minns is a new-er friend of mine. He's a student at Humber College and does some pretty sweet stuff with webdesign and such. His website has a lot of interesting things on it, so go check it out. He is also very smiley.

Jeff Thompson is a 3rd year animation student at Sheridan College. He has developed a very interesting and different style in his artwork, but he has also proven to be quite adaptable to other styles when need be. He always has lots of great pieces to look at up on his blog, so be sure to check him out too.

All the others on the list are more like aquaintances (sp?), but they are all great animaters at Sheridan College as well. Swing on by their pages, you won't be disappointed.

Alright, so here is the first piece from my portfolio...the shadow off the head of the hammer is a bit effed up right now, so i gotta fix that. all in all I'm really happy with this one. It was for the 'mechanical objects' requirement.
